An illness can lead to unexpected costs not covered by your health plan.
Deductibles and copays, or other costs like travel and child care, can
reduce your savings. Bronson partners with Sunlife to offer eligible employees Critical Illness Insurance. Critical illness insurance provides a cash benefit when
you or a person on your plan is diagnosed with a covered condition. The benefit is paid directly to you, to use however
you want.
Although not a replacement for traditional medical or disability income insurance, Sun Life Critical Illness Insurance provides
a lump-sum payment in the event a Covered Family Member experiences a covered medical condition and meets the policy and
certificate requirements. A few examples of covered medical conditions are listed below. See the Documents tab for a more comprehensive list.
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cancer
- Kidney failure, or
- A major
organ transplant.
Coverage Levels
Bronson offers Critical Illness Insurance at both the $15,000 level and the $30,000 level through Sun Life Financial. You
can use the lump-sum payment to cover the cost of co-pays, deductibles, mortgage payments and child care as you see fit to
help protect your family’s finances. Premiums for this benefit are based on the Critical Illness plan summary found on the Documents tab.
